Create a chippy farmhouse finish on furniture using paint

Getting a natural distressed look on your furniture can be a little challenging if you are just using sandpaper.  I've seen pieces that go from one extreme to another, either extremely uniform only on edges or, what I call, leopard spot distressing.  In my opinion, furniture doesn't naturally wear like that.  I like using this technique to get this look because to me, it looks a bit more natural.
